Hmm, I am intermittently getting this problem....especially seems when I am running flash video (not 100% sure its exclusive to that though - will monitor)

The screens go black, flick back on and any video is now just green - can still hear the sound playing. Refreshing the page brings the video back too

I am running an i7-920 @ 4.0ghz with 2 x GTX470 in sli with a Corsair HX850W psu (setup using nvidia surround on 3 monitors.)

Had a quick google around and people seem to be pointing towards Flash 10.1 and hardware acceleration being on.

Its very intermittant though, am running 3 videos at once now and its fine, sometimes it doesnt happen for a week then twice in a few mins...

Anyone else had/having this problem? A solution or what steps to take to try and track it down.

The cards are at stock speed atm, I have OC'd them and run furmark, 3dmark vatntage etc etc and not had a problem with them - so it does seem linked with playing video

I'am getting I think a similar problem to you same sli 920 etc windows 7 64, the screen seems to get a shutter effect like in the old days off the cardboard would come down to cover the lens etc "iam not that old" Iam going to check tonight or this afternoon on the main pc to see if its the latest beta drivers I installed from nvidia

EDIT

may revert back to 197 Drivers and wait until 260 become WHQL,
will have to still check my PC tonight or this evening.

I suggest trying the beta 260 drivers

nVidia have completely recoded the installer, and it now (supposedly) properly removes and cleans up the previous driver before it installs the new one. This error usually occurs either due to conflicting remnants of older drivers or overclocking issues, but flash has been known to cause it too. I've not had any issues with the latest 260 series betas

I had a similar problem with if your running an EX-58 mobo.

After much tinkering i needed to upgrade the mobo BIOS.

did put the latest Nvidia beta drivers in and had no problems yet, played the new moh beta , also played battlefield bad company 2 and the shuttering problem has not reoccurred yet.

Hi my GA-EX58-UD5 has the f12 bios although there is a f13 beta I will not bother with that at the moment as the fixes are not relevant to me.

ie

improved audio
enhanced usb keyboard etc

My issue was resolved with that BIOS (f12) so thats not the issue.

Hope you get it sorted.

Cheers

apparently I went from 197 drivers to latest beta drivers, in other forums else were they say it could be a failing GPU , I'am on SLI and to get 16x pci express speed they need to back to back otherwise would have 8x and 16x if I spaced them out.
I use rivatuna for gpu fan speed with profiles I got from Utube which give me better cooling on chip ie fans stays on longer to cool chip once back at the desktop.

i dont know if i can post this link here MODS please remove if thats the case

Did you find a solution yet?

I've finally had time today to do some testing (my mobo btw is the P6X58D-E) - Ive just tried :-

SLI on + Nvidia surround (span) => flash video crashed within minutes

SLI on + 3 screen extended desktop => flash video crashed within minutes

SLI off + 3 screen extended desktop => flash video crashed after half an hour

I'll try the beta 260 drivers... then i guess its try the cards one at a time to see if one is faulty, though I get no problems when gaming with sli + surround, and both gpus are at 100% - rather than 5% when playing video... So its looking like a driver issue rather than a hardware fault would you think?

I played last night battlefield bad company 2 and new MOH open Beta and game with SLI, GPU runs at 100% never a crash, so I could think it could be a driver problem as well.

BTW I'am only using one dell 27inch screen, not 3 so could be build up off heat on the gpus after a period off time may cause the problem whilst using 3 Screens.
Test one gpu at a time so you can if there is a problem.

My mobo is Asus Striker II Extreme, so there's no BIOS update for long time ;-)
What leads me to think it's a specific driver's issue under WIn 7 x64 is that I have no such issues under Windows XP, or Linux. Moreover, there are more driver-related unsolved issues under Win 7 x64 (aka SB Audigy & mic: memory leak, huh), so looks like not all programmer's jobs under 64-bits has been finished properly.

Well, it just did it again with the new beta 260.63 drivers :(

Am trying that setting in NVCP about maximum 3d performance rather than adaptive

I think I might have tracked it down to 1 of the 470's being faulty....have been able to get hold of another one now and will do some testing to see if it still happens with the new card in sli
