What to look out for on a scooby?!

Yeah, there are some beasts out there in legacy form!
Just not seen one of these in auto guise before :)
Oddly there is a saloon version on AT as well at the moment!

That is an import, yes. Auto box with probably be the 4EAT box, which is pants :D

As an import it has more power than your usual WRX, but if it hasn't had a remap when it came into the country, could be running badly.

Is scoobynet still the place for info or is there somewhere better? (given it's an import it's bound to be posted on a forum somewhere!)

scoobynet is awesome, just dont always expect an instant reply, sometimes you get 30 replies in 5 mins, other times none for weeks, its a weird old place

That's a JDM import so there is slightly more power than the UK version. The autobox from that era Scooby would be stronger if it were made of chocolate and yes, you'll probably need it undersealed. I don't know if UK insurers view JDM as higher risk or not?

I wouldn't buy that. It's a Scooby and an autobox is the opposite of everything they're about.

Yeah, it is completely odd to what we know them for. That in itself isn't a reason to not buy though :)
Completely ***** gearbox is though as being rare it will be a pain to replace if bad!!

If the gearbox were to ever let go or need parts you might be in for a wait. I can't see your local Subaru dealer carrying many auto box parts.

If you want something japanese, quick and auto why not look at a Galant? The estate ones the lad on here has really do look cool.

Yeah that's the biggest worry tbh.
Galants (or Falange as iphone corrected it to!) are far to big for my wife to ever think of driving. Not after a conventional estate, this just caught my eye as an interesting option :)
