Hey guys,
Not mine, but repairing an 20" Alu iMac. Never really had a problem till recently where it's randomly freezing when opening applications etc. Then eventually when turning it on you couldn't go into any of the profiles.
So I took a look, ran the OSX disc and did a verify disk in the disk utility and it came up saying it had software issues and recommended a repair disk. So I ran a repair, restarted it and it went in all the profiles and appears to be fine.
Whilst we were at it, we supplied a new external hard drive and ran time machine as well, so everythings backed up.
It's started playing up again (only fixed it yesterday). My colleague is going to run a RAM checker on it 'Rember' - If that comes up clean my only guess is a faulty hard drive. But the hard drives on these a right PITA to get out, like, a proper pain...
Can anyone else suggest anything I might've missed?
Many Thanks,
Jake
