Hi all,

Has anyone bought one of these recently, having a bit of a discussion with a competitor regarding if it will fit on socket 775, I'm fairly sure its universal but its advertised on their site as 1156 / 1366 but you know what the marketing lads are like.

Thanks in advance.

LGA 771, 775, 1156 and 1366 from what manu states. I had one on 775 for a short while but I wouldnt know if there are 2 revisions. One for the 771/775 and another for the 1155/1156/1366. Best to check up on that.

Andy

Swiftech Apogee XT supports all three sockets. New ones are meant to have all three backplates. The older ones came with just 1156 and 1366 but Swiftech would send you a 775 backplate for free.

So if new it should have all 3, if old stock then no but you should be able to get a free one.

"Unique Convenience Features: Swiftech's retention mechanism is universally recognized as the simplest and safest to use. It has been further improved to feature universal compatibility with all Intel Core desktop processors."

Well, 775 is of the core architecture so i should be fine regardless, even if it doesn't fit i guess it would be falsely claimed.

And just for the record the 771 and AM socket backplates are available but definitely have to be bought seperately (unless they have changed and added them for free as well)

I have one. Bought it second hand and it didnt come with a back plate. However they are easy to pick up, I paid £3 for mine and it works excellently. Its a very good block for 775 IMO

Already ordered the Apogee XT HW91 but thanks for the reply, i prefer the looks and flow really won't be an issue in this loop.

Just in case i stumbled on a thread in Swiftech's site which advises people to email a Michelle regarding the 775 backplates which are apparently FOC.
