This is so true - I remember our local newsagents stocking Jet Set Willy and Manic Miner on the shelf next to the Fighting Fantasy game books.

We had an Atari when they came out but my Dad was on it more than me, where as the speccy was actually mine

God I feel old now lol

I'm quite an old git so had a few of those Grandstand machines in the eighties, Firefox F7, Astro Wars, Scramble which were awesome, but the first computer I had was a Dragon 32 and console wise I got a Master System.

Me and my mate always used to argue about which was better - mine or his c64.
I think Roland On The Ropes was a game that came with my computer.
I don't think I had Ghost N Ghoblins:(

Ah the warlock of firetop mountain, we were discussing these books at work the other day. In a fit of nostalgia I almost bought one :D

A mastertronic game, a fighting fantasy book and 1/4 cola cubes for less than 20 pence. What more could a small boy need :D
 
My dad brought home a Commodore 64 with a copy of Barry McGuigan boxing.

Not really a console, but i had to make do with this and begging my big brother to play on his consoles till i could buy my own :p

nowt wrong with a gameboy mate, they were awesome. i remember mickey mouse and the first super mario very well :D
 
^First for me was the NES, been such a long time now, forgot what it looked like :p

First PC was some tiny machine, it struggled to run even the most basic games.
