Hi guys, another spec me (a holiday) thread I'm afraid.

I've got a bunch of time to take off before christmas which sort of crept up on me, so I'm thinking of 3 or 4 weeks somewhere nice and warm, and hopefully interesting as well... Nice beaches, friendly people, a bit of culture, blah blah. My price range is about £400-600 for flights, assuming cheap living over there. Will be going solo.

I have no interest in Australia or North America, would be more interested in India (Goa?), Indonesia, South America, maybe south Africa?

I was hoping to get some opinions of more travelled people of where to get cheap flights, what the weather is like this time of year in various places, general advice?

Many thanks!

I'm thinking of going to Agidir, Morroco in this same time period! Anyone have any experience with this area at this time?

sorry for the lil hijack :p

Kerala. Far less commercialised than Goa, wonderful weather, amazing fish, the back waters, amazing smiling locals. Also, only a train ride up the west coast to anywhere you desire - the trains in India must be experienced. I had the time of my life up and down the West coast of India.

Not a bad shout either!

I'm in the same position and have booked a flight to Cuba. For me it is the perfect mix of relaxation and exploration. The weather will still be mid 20s with a nice and balmy humidity. I also think it's a good time to go now before the politics and face of the country potentially changes. They have a network of 'casas particulares' which are basically B&Bs, so great for solo travellers wanting to mingle with locals etc.

Red sea.

If you like to dive it's awesome. If not go all inclusive.

I've done the Hyatt Regency in Taba twice and it was £409 half board for a week all in. Drinks are a bit pricey but hey ho.

The sea is 21 degrees and it was about 27/28 and that was start of November.

:)

Im going to Indonesia for 3 weeks when i leave Korea and head back to the UK.
Flights are costing me nothing (as im just breaking works return trip up and converting down to ecconomy to cover the increased costs)

Looks ok but i need to make more effort to plan what im going to do, that said i could live with 3 weeks on a beach.
Maybe I should make a "spec me things to do in Indonesia thread".

Gambia in November is very hot, think its their summer. Gorgeous beaches, friendly people and has history of slave trading. The series Roots was based there (if irc). Visit St James Island and the freedom pole.

Thailand, needs no introduction. December time is perfect weather and theres as much or as little as you want to do. Lived there for a year in 2009/10 and wishing I was back there now :(

You can get fairly cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur from London, quite a few nice islands around Malaysia - great food and not expensive really.

You can also get to Thailand quickly from here - or a 4 hour flight to the Philippines which also has some amazing beaches.

Some of the islands will be closed though ... due to rainy season !

I'm going to Egypt for Christmas this year, flights were £440 or so and 280 for the 9 day tour and I know there was another package that was £600 or something for 2 weeks flights and accom included staying at the Hilton somewhere in Egypt.

I just booked a one way flight from Seoul to KL, KL to Jakarta, the Jakarta to KL and KL to London Heathrow for around £500 a head so i can back that up.

Malaysian Airlines were the cheapest by far, I just hope they are ok.

Only problem now is im going to have to do a 13Hr flight from KL to LHR in the back of the bus. There was no way i could justify 2 club class tickets costing nearly 10x that.
