Just wondering if I can sell this on or not if I buy it. :)

EDIT: Oops typo. Obviously it's meant to be "Dead Rising 2"! :p

Not possible as it uses SSA to tie the serial number to your gamertag so you would have to give the gamertag to the buyer as well which is against the GFWL T&C.......

Not normally, My Batman:AA was cd key was registered to my GFWL account and I sold mine on no problems.

That only means the person who bought it from you didn't complain (and batman is playable without the online side of it - though you will miss out on some aspects of the challenges).

GFWL is just like steam - once a game has been registered to a particular account, it can't be registered to anyone else. If that game has any online component at all the buyer can't use that. GFWL games by default install an online profile, which allows achievements, access to leaderboards, etc., even if it's justr a single-player game. Creating an offline profile can be a bit tricky if you don't know how to do it, and you lose those benefits.

Its actually now possible to sell a GFWL game which uses SSA as MS for ages have let you change your email address associated with the gamertag to another email address free of charge you can do it yourself on Xbox.com. Obviously you have to give the buyer your gamertag as well but as long as you change the email address beforehand........

How practical is that, though, if you have more than one game associated with your gamertag? I have 3 I think, and I don't buy games very often.

It really puts me off buying games that you can't resell. I was going to buy Mafia 2 for PC until I found it it required steam so I didn't bother. If I pay top whack for a game You should be entitled to sell it later once you are bored with it. They should not sell games at retail on a disc in a box if they are locked to some online service. MMO's are an exception.

Look - you've got to start getting used to the fact that YOU ARE NOT BUYING A PRODUCT. You are licensing the product for your use. The product belongs to the publisher/devs. Therefore, legally, you don't own anything to sell on.

With something like Steam you also get a service which adds value to the game - achievements, Steam-cloud save game and settings backups, in-game chat, in-game web browser, automatic updates, free DLC (for Valve games), the ability to download the game as many times as you like on any PC.

Of course you could say that GFWL subtracts value - it's clunky, encrypts savegames so you can't transfer them between machines or OSes, has a terrible update system and requires you to be online to save. It's the main reason I've avoided Dead Rising 2.
