Are the predicted price falls still happening?

Nvidia prices will only drop in price if they need to do this to compete with the new AMD/ATI cards.

So any price drops will depend on how much the new AMD/ATI cards launch at.

And supply, from what I've read around teh interweb will be very slow, which means short supply, prices rising and possibly months to get a decent supply rather than the odd trickle of a box with a dozen cards every few weeks and pre-orders for 3x that amount.

TBH I'd probably just go 460 1GB and OC the nuts off it. I have the Giga 1Gb that is (was?) on special today and I'm very very pleased with it.

Nvidia will have to do something with the price, AMD aren't going to replace it's successful 5000 cards with bunch of crappy ones that offer worse value for money. Of course if Nvidia don't move on price that can only mean one thing................;)

well, I am still sitting waiting for the new AMD cards since they have been so well hyped without any information at all, officially, from AMD. sites I've looked at suggest 18 October its release date for the the the cards and it's hard to believe that there won't be any announcements before then. Maybe, they will announce on 18 October and supplies with very limited for quite awhile.

Meanwhile I'm wondering whether I ought not to have bought the 460 card yesterday as the price was very good. I think I'll keep looking at the new weekly and daily deals with something as good as that turns up again I think I might go to the 460 rather than wait.

Incidentally, how is the new card going to those who bought the card yesterday?

Yes but nvidia will be the last people to get a review sample card ;)
