I want one of these, a little expensive but what a desk toy.

This is a two-cylinder gas powered engine "V-twin". V-Twin engines can run at a lower speeds due to the combined mass of the balanced reciprocating pistons and crosshead.

The ignition system is run using Piezo crystal which requires no batteries. The Engine has two "injecting carburetors" and a large brass flywheel which makes it easy and simple to start. Simple turn a knob on the gas tank and flick the flywheel, then adjust the knob for the correct speed. Extended exhaust pipes have been added to give a V engine type sound (a cut down V8 sound if you like).

The moving parts of the two-cylinders (pistons, crosshead and valve rods) move in opposite directions both balancing the engine and making a interesting mechanical interaction.

Loads of other neat stuff on their website

The ferofluid is terminator :p

I've always wanted one of those little water pumps / generators that you see at your local game fairs / agricultural shows that the old boys keep immaculate

My dad makes all of this stuff for a hobby. Here is a traction engine that he made.

Its probably a bit to big for a desk ornament though.

I do love the little stationary engines, I just cant justify the cost of getting one.

Functional?

My Great Uncle? (gran's brother in law) used to make these too, machined the parts himself - they ran and everything :)

Riiiight...just like a single cylinder dumper truck is like a cut down V12.

This appears to be a crude two stroke design, presumably with the propane/air mix injected from the top of the cylinder head helping with the scavenging. Looks nicely made but a bit expensive IMO.

The 4 Cylinder design is more interesting.

If i wanted to cheese people off at work, i'd simple start an RC nitro engine minus the exhaust, i've never felt ear pain like that before!

Iv got an Irvine 53 2 Stroke engine for my RC plane, something about small engines! awsome engineering
