I had an odd dream that when I changed my oil I put a pressure washer into the oil filler cap and 'cleaned' the inside of the engine. In reality what would this do?

Nothing, it's fine to do it. I make sure I do it every month or so just to keep the car clean as that way it uses less petrol.
