Was in an O2 store this morning and by god they are good.

Gent in suit walks in says "hi my daughters broken my spare phone what's the cheapest phone you have?"

10 minutes later he's walked out with an IP4 :p

haha, shocking! They really try to push their phone support too, insurance etc. And I ask.. So YOU fix the phones yourselves? (Knowing that they give them to carphone warehouse) and he tries to avoid the question. I say I'm not interested and he tries pushing it even more, "you do know it'll cover loss theft and other damage!". So I just said straight up, So, My phone breaks, I bring it here and you send it off to O2 to be fixed right? No, It goes to carphone warehouse, takes up to 2 weeks, and your insurance is too vague to actually cover accidental damage. So no thank you."

To which he shut up and realised I was getting pi**ed o**.

Annoys me when companies try to push non existant deals.. 3 (Three Network) phoned me up as my contract is about to expire, and try to get me to renew with a "FREE UPGRADE" I was expecting 20-40£ off the phone cost etc. He offers me a 35£ a month iphone contract which I happened to have seen on their website night before. Except the one i saw online had an extra 500mb internet.

I just was blunt and asked, am I receiving any discount on the website prices with any phone you can upgrade me to? He said no. I said, I have the internet, I can shop around for the best deal, thank you.

Pfft. 3mobile suck with upgrades.

It was funny they showed him the cheap and nasty phones and dragged him to the ivory tower IP4 independant stand where he started playing with one and I assume made his mind up, don't know what deal but I bet he had his pants pulled down.

Every Network sucks with upgrades, o2 are the worst !!!!!

I was due a upgrade on my other and I rang up and they offered £35 contract and I said I can get the same one for around £20 and they said they can't match it so I said give me my pac code and they just gave it.

If he walks out thinking an iPhone deal of any kind is cheap, then I guess he's too rich to actually care that much. Sounds like O2 did well, good on the salesman.

I must say though that the iPhone 4 is incredibly impressive. I was almost won over by it when I went into an O2 store, but I made myself wait for the Desire HD.

Out of interest, how much was your Desire HD contract? And what are the minutes/network/texts/data/etc.

Thanks if you get back to me :)

Ahhh fail read. I'm waiting for it too, just thought it might've been launched while I was away :s wishful thinking :)

Their sales might be up to scratch but their network coverage (especially 3G) leaves a lot to be desired.

the problem is the upgrade phones are normally pretty ****, anyone ever had anything decent or is it me just not willing to pay enough?

I'd love to be back in the UK with my current mobile requirements as here in Denmark they only offer 6 month contracts, no incentives to stay with an operator & no tailored packages. I spend roughly 200 pounds a month because of international call charges, but that can get as much as a grand a month if I have to work away. Cheeky buggers still charge you 100 quid plus for the latest phone too!

Only bonus is getting ti change phones often .

But your paying too change the phone every 6th month? Sounds like your bills are very high over there.
