having suffered BIG battery usage i loaded up Juice Defender Battery and it has helped to make my battery last for way over a day now, from the 1st couple of days use of less than 10 hours.

i was going to buy ultimatejuice, but have been reading up on Tasker.
could i ask any android users (if they have used either) for any thoughts on them. or of anything better?

Leave task killers alone they cause far more issues then they resolve!

care to elaborate ?

must say mine slows down after a while... click taskiller ...30-40 meg ram left...so kill a few apps that are running....facebook etc ect....speeds up....voila speedy phone again....

now Ive read posts about they are evil ;)

but I fail to see any other way...... just my thoughts.

Autokiller is probably the best one as it adjusts the presets of the built in android taskkiller so has'nt any bad side effects but you need root for it to work. You should install the lag fix as well which speeds up the phone.

Just do a search , your phone is not running windows

your phone manages programs just fine without a taskiller they were designed for earlier android phones with very little RAM. ;)

Have just installed the one click lag fix..... this now seems like the phone it should be.... impressed so far... have removed TasKiller see if it still performs speedily.

As long as your 3 button recovery works you can't brick the phone.

just tried OCLF from the market place that roots your phone so that you can then install the lag fix. on selecting root, it tells me its done and that i need to enter recovery mode to select the update.zip.

tried the 3 key presses a few times (did not work), then checked online, apparently my (newer Galaxy S's) Galaxy S does not have this recovery option any more.

I find tasker works really well once you have set up your application rules and conditions. For example I've set the WiFi to switch off between midnight and 6am (when I'm typically asleep), the GPS only to come on when using maps or navigation etc etc.

Using the various combinations my battery lasts almost 2 days.
