Anyone know why he did this? (police brutality)

maybe me and you should start a petition to get him reinstated.

I didn't say he should get reinstated, you're basically saying he should because you think he was in the right for things that weren't part of the charge.

Yes it is. When I was a wee lad, I was charged with being drunk in charge of a bicycle on a public highway.

I got fined £35.

Were you breathalised?

/edit after some reading it is an offence "s30 RTA 1988", well bugger me.

but do you agree mr pothead is a danger to the public ?

Nope, he's probably taking his time about everything as the world rushes past him at 3mph.

I can't believe people think the officer intentionally and pre-meditatedly knocked the guy off... watch the officer on the right... they clearly decide to move to the pavement and then due to mis-judgement on the part of the officer and cyclist result in an unfortunate collision. There is no assault.

I can see how it might look like assault if you don't watch the officer on the right too.

You are kidding right?

He quite clearly gets his elbow ready and lunges with his body towards the cyclist.

Really ? even after so many people have typed it out for you.
i say we go with the 'pot head was a danger to the public and needed to be removed from the roads' defense.

Where? he thinks he sees a gap in the cycles, realises he mis-judged it and starts running for the pavement and then puts his arms up to deflect the collision. There is no assault just 2 people mis-judging the situation.

We must be looking at 2 different video's cause that's not what I'm seeing.

If he had stood still he wouldn't of hit anything, he deliberately lunged at the cyclist.

really cant believe some people think this was an accident!

All you have to do is look at the police officer's body posture at point of impact with bike.

He is putting his weight behind the colission. He is leaning into the bike. Watch again.

If he intended to dodge it he would have automatically leaned away from it when he realised it would hit

Technically no, but you can be arrested for being drunk and disorderly and whatever the equivalent drugs charge is.

If he could get on and ride the bike, he wasn't that baked.

Being baked wouldn't hinder riding a bike, if you smoke enough weed being high isn't being high any more it's just something you do because it becomes part of your everyday like alcoholics who drink pints and pints to no visible effect.

I'm not proud of it but I used to drive all the time when I was high in my teenage years. An I drove like little miss daisy because I was paranoid.

I know.

If that were the case, the cop wouldn't have been able to visually detect that he was a "pothead" from that distance.

Look at the angle the cyclist was coming it at from off video - he was directly on a collision course with the officer at that point (before the officer speeds up), the cyclists swerves to his left to avoid the officer if that same moment the officer decides to run forward to get out the way.

Now I can't discount the officer getting a bit mad at the guy for nearly hitting him and lashing out more than necessary in deflecting the collsion but any suggestion the officer deliberatly targetted that cyclist to assault him is ludicrous.

You still get red eyes though even when an experienced smoker, he would still have looked stoned.

No, he wasn't. He is traveling in a straight line, the manhole cover is parallel to the curb and the cyclists wheels follow the line on the manhole cover exactly. Only afterwards does he swerve as he see's the cop moving infront of him.

It's completely individual and I still say he wouldn't notice from that distance.

standing still wasn't an option . he was already striding into the path of where the cyclist was going to be going . you cant just instantly stop. just unlucky that the cyclist swerved

ever stepped into the road and thought ''wooops this is a close call'' , you speed up. if the car swerved onto the pavement or edge of the road it would be exactly like what happened in that video

I stop and roll on to my tiptoes personally, I certainly don't lunge elbow first.

use your eyes.

the police officer Speeds up AFTER the bike has started to move to the left to avode being close.

BUT the police office then Lunged with this elbow and entire left side at his causeing the cycleist to colide with his and fly off.

That is assult, if it was in UK courts that police office would be done for GBH.
