RAM for AMD 955

Already posted this in the memory section but not much response there. I d like to know if a RAM running at 1600mhz will be useless with an amd 955 as this cpu supports up to 1333mhz of memory speed? ie. should I just buy the 1333mhz bundle? (I am asking cos I found both for the same price, the 1600mhz kit having a CL7 timing-corsair XMS 1600mhz @ CL7) the motherboard used will be an asus crosshair iv.

It will just run at the slower speed, untill you overclock your cpu. So get fastest.

so if I OC the cpu as I intend to do it will start utilizing all the 1600mhz of the ram?

this confuses me aswell, how does overclocking the CPU make the ram run faster?

if he overclocks the cpu by increasing the FSB, the memory speed will increase also, unless its locked in the bios or he sets a divider to keep it within spec.

Ahh ok, im a bit of a noob when it comes to overclocking but am i right in assuming that if he has 1600mhz ram and downclocks it things like the timings will improve? if so then perhaps having 1600mhz ram and running it at 1333 could be a good option?
