Hi guys,

For my new job I've got to do 2 weeks training in Telford. I need to get there via train but I've never been on a train before and have no idea how to plan the route for timescale and costs etc.

Is there a site I can use for something like this?

Cheers

Try eastcoast.co.uk instead of thetrainline. I used to use the train line until they started charging for essential extras like paying by card and/or collecting at the station...

I can't believe it costs 27.50 to get from Stoke to Wellington in Telford. What are trains so expensive?!

The trains are a joke here, 4 hours 30 to get from Lancaster to Aberystwyth, but only 6 hours to get from Lancaster to Paris.

Get the young persons railcard and book journeys in advance. If you book in advance and with a railcard (1/3 off) then you can get from Leeds to London and back for £13.30

Thats a lot cheaper, faster and less hassle than a car!

Earlier this week I booked Cork > Waterford and Waterford > Cork in Ireland. This cost 42 euros (without railcard)
