Just bought a Speedlink SL-89691 clip on mic, it is really quiet.

I bought a Speedlink SL-89691-sbk clip on mic.

It sounds extremely quiet, so i suspect i have done something wrong. I can only hear myself if playback volume is turned to max.

I think a fair few people here have one of these mic's.

Is there anything i need to do to turn it on?

Is there any good tools for calibrating an mic?

There is a mic boost thingy to tick somewhere which makes a massive diff, think its via control panel..

I use Steam's build-in voice chat setup to calibrate my mic.
