Is GTX 480 good enough for 3d gaming?

I'd like some more info on this "DRM" as from what I've seen the only hardware thats shut out is hardware that doesn't work with the nVidia method of 3D anyway.

There is no DRM restriction.

Where did anyone get the DRM idea from?

There is definately DRM built in here, as I have seen it. But i have a feeling it is for movie playback (to stop piracy).

I ran into this issue trying to play a blu-ray from my PC to my TV via a HDMI splitter box.

As for 3d DRM, I am not sure, you may want to ask on the NV forums. I know for a fact that there is an approved list of devices... if other devices work I am not sure.

Had the exact same technology years ago, played a bunch of Quake 3 and some Padman levels. Enjoyed it quite a bit, then put the glasses in a drawer after a couple of weeks and never touched it again.

All graphics cards have the DRM for blu-ray. Its the standard set out for blu-ray.
The list on NZone is just monitors tried & confirmed working. There is no reason why a 120Hz screen wouldn't work unless it is fake 120Hz like most TVs on the shelf in the last 3 years....

As suspected. There is no "DRM" tech in the Nvidia products. Except the blu-ray DRM. (easily surpassed)

It's simple hardware requirements. 100 or 120htz refresh rate, capable through DVI-D (dual link) cables or HDMI.

Enjoy.

been using iz3d driver and must say i'm impressed. Based on the docs posted above, seemsmy tv does work so may invest in a nvidia card.....

thanks all for taking the time to post
