Don't think this classes as a medical thread, just asking for some advice.

I'm 26 and I have recently started running in an attempt to get fit after years of laziness. Going well so far and about a month in and the changes are noticeable apart from one problem - I seem to have a click in my left foot, difficult to locate, could be the ankle, could be the heel but it is clicking everytime pressure is put on it. It isn't painful but I can feel it is there (discomfort one may say) and it is really starting to make me feel a bit uneasy hearing it click.

Anything I should be worried about?

It might not be painful but there could be long term implications. I would get it checked out.

A change of running shoe may also assist. Since you say you have just started running what shoes are you wearing?

Could just be 1 of your toes or something silly like that. My toes click, but I don't hear them when I run, unless you start to get pain and can locate exactly where it is I really doubt it's anything serious.

Get it checked out if you're seriously worried, otherwise you could try exercises that target that area.

Just back from a visit to the doctor and have been diagonosed with achilles tendonitis after he had a bit of a play around with both feet. Didn't seem 100% sure though to be honest but prescribed me with 10 days worth of anti-imflamatories and told me to stop the running and any unnecessary stress in this time and see how that goes.

This is a massive pain in the backside for me as was really getting into my running and the results were clearly visible and feel a bit like it's all going to go to waste now.

Can anyone recommend any form of exercise or gym equipment just so I can keep up the cardio for the next 10 days? Or should I just completely rest?

And to answer the first question, I wear Nike+ running shoes, not the most expensive but seem to be comfortable, not an expert in the field though so not sure if they completely supportive. Also have problems with them rubbing on my heals which can be painful.

Go to a specialist store and get your shoes fitted by someone who knows what they're talking about, don't forget to take the shoes your currently using with you.
