Can any local Derby folk recommend a classy joint to take the Mrs?

Not really fussed what kind of restaurant as I'll eat anything, and she'll hardly eat anything being female...

La Tasca or Zizi are supposed to be good but not cheap.. Antibos for a nice italian or Le Bistoir Pierre.. For poncy...

I didn't really rate La Tasca, Zizi is ok but nothing spectacular from my past experiences. I haven't been to Le Bistoir Pierre though :)

Morley Hayes and Darley's are supposed to be good but haven't tried either.

Seen the website for Anoki actually, looks pretty good.

Zizi and La Tasca are ok but I've been to them before, you get them in most towns.

Price isn't an issue really (although I'm not paying silly money!), just want somewhere interesting and that will please the other half.

I like the sound of the steak place, and I've already come across Darleys which looks good too.

Emily's is a really small place so well worth booking in advance, the food is outstanding but the menu is a little limited. You do get very good service though, I've spent quite a few evenings chatting to the owners hours after I've finished eating.

Can't say there's many 'classy' places in Derby there are some nice places. Zizi and La Tasca aren't classy or nice just average mush and Antibos is full of teenage birthday parties and office nights out.

I'd suggest you look at Thai Dusit, Moonsha, The European, Anoki (as mentioned already) and Opulence (cathedral hotel) depending on what type of food you fancy.

Cheers for the info guys, I like the look of Darleys, but some good looking places in the Trip Advisor link too. Will put it to The Boss and see what she likes the look of.

Moonsha do some excellent ramen.
