V+ HD Box Recording space.

V+ HD Box Recording space is seriously inadequate if you want to record much HD programming, does anybdy know if Virgin have any plans for boxes with more space available at all?

I think the general rule is if you are recording HD you have the space so in fact you can only record 40hours. I don't think virgin have any plans as yet, but they were talking about new box where you can access Internet though your tv. Hopefully the new boxes will have a bigger hdd

Not with this V+ HD box, it's more like 1 hour of HD is 4 hours of recording space used :eek:

Same for sky+HD. You can record 4 times as much SD than HD.

Yeh, most of it's probably just the fact that it's shiney new and I want to record lots of junk I'd never normally watch

Guessing you can't plug a bigger HDD in like you can with the Sky boxes?

From what I've been reading you can, but the box remains the property of VM unlike Sky boxes from what I've read and as such you could get into trouble...

just image a bigger disk in there. You should be able to run 1TB with no problems
