P5W DH Deluxe, maximum FBS?

Hi, can someone tell me what my maximum fsb for this board is? Im not sure whether the mobo or the CPU has been limiting my overclocking.

Currently i can run my E6600 at 9 x 390, but im looking at getting a Q9650 E0. I know my multiplier is locked at 9 on the E6600.

Is the 390 limited by the mobo or by my E6600?

EDIT: I am/was using air cooling via a tuniq tower

Got it up to 445.

All boards will vary and it's up to you how far you want to try and push it.

Q9650 has a maximum 9x multipler which would give you 3.5GHz at 9x390. Not sure how much further you can go on air cooling.

I can get my Q9650 to 4.25GHz but that's on water cooling and I wouldn't use it at that speed 24/7.

I think i may have found the problem (think)...

This is the RAM i have:

It runs at 1066Mhz, but in the bios for the memory it says 760Mhz, so i presume i have to double this which is 1520Mhz and so my memory cannot keep up?

If the memory is limiting you then you need to look for an option in the BIOS to change the memory divider to lower the speed of the memory.

Ok it turns out i had been running my 1066MHz Kingston HyperX at 2x 775 MHz looooool!!!

I reduced the Memory to 2 x 600 and i was able to up the FSB to 400MHz
