Porsche 911: All the same, crap to drive, just crap!

Oh please try and educate me on cricket, that would be funny. Ive forgotten more in the last 5 mins than you will ever know.

I'd rather shove a cactus up my bum to be fair, what i will do though is enjoy your continually unfounded and fantastical responses. They do after all afford me a time to smile whilst alt tabbing :)

Haha i bet you would.

At least you have found your shift key now.

amstrad CPC 6128 would have been a better choice - maybe a 1512 with a 5 1/4 drive on it

cray's = overrated

Meh, bring it, here are 3 of the close to 40 I have at home, all mint, boxed with all cables, manuals and disks/tapes/cartridges!

Joshy i aint being a **** but go and drive a decent 911, vanilla or not for a couple of then come back and say thats not the most complete package.

That Jap thing aint even on the same page, it might have been great when it came out, but it aint aged well, same as GTR's now, what they going to look like in 20 years time, another slightly formica bit of Jap history, meanwhile Porsches will still be plodding on evolving nicely.

Over to you Fett, tell me how fast they are again.

I think I only mention the GT-R in jest usually, but if you'd like me to expand on it's capabilities and merits, by all means start a new GT-R thread. I'd only be regurgitating what Bovingdon, Harris, Sutcliffe et al have already said. Housey is no fan of the GT-R, but I'd have zero issue with him coming back from a drive and saying it left him cold. He wouldn't deny it's an impressive bit of kit either. Just as the GT-R probably is not for him, a plain Jane C2 is not for me.

The only issue I have with comments on the GT-R are from people who have no experience of them and make all sorts of declarations about them without basis.

I'm not alone in finding the lesser 911's not my cup of tea. You won't find a negative comment from me about Porsche because that's not how I feel. Being left feeling uninspired and unimpressed after a few C2's and C4's does not make me jump to the conclusion that the rest of the offerings are equally insipid. There are a couple in the stable that are just sublime. I can acknowledge the fact that Porsche make some very competent, very enjoyable and very desirable and quick cars...even though I own the car that is 'the competition'. If I wanted to pretend the GT-R is nothing but perfect and Porsche drivers are fat dentists, I'd spend my time at GTROC in ignorant bliss.

So the year before last year you.

But it beat the KTM that year. And Sutters said that everything to come will never really be as good. Also, 2008 is widely regarded as the best year. Ever.
