Mondeo ST vs Focus ST - Why such a price difference?

The ST220 represents massive value for money these days, shame about the CO2 emissions though. I believe the Focus just sneaks in below the magic 225g/km figure.

If we're doing comparisons consider the rate the ST shifts with the turbo wound up (i.e. remapped)... not sure the same potential is in the Mondeo, at least not for similar money. The 260bhp STs are pretty impressive although the 0-60 is still a bit average :)

Oh it's very good for FWD, but I recall someone on pistonheads posting the ingear times for the mountune kit and they were seriously impressive (beating some high performance RWD/AWD machines) - relative to the ingear stuff the FWD was letting the 0-60 down quite a bit. Good car, still miss mine... more and more tempted by the RS everyday :D

Wish I could find the link now!

Better spec, bigger for a family, no turbo to go wrong, cheaper insurance, nigh on same speed, with a better exhaust note.

The Duratec V6 sounds good but do you really think its better than the 5 pot in the Focus ST? The Focus sounds epic!

Just don't get a post march 2006 220 which is pretty rare anyway and you'll be ok, doesnt matter about emissions then as you won't be paying any more tax.

Not a chance, 5 pot sounds spot on, st220's exhaust doesn't pop and bang as much and there's no turbo noise :D

I don't know, it's been so long since I test drove the standard ST220 I couldn't remember, but when the v6 gets to the top end I don't think the FST could match that induction noise.
