Hi all, Buying an SSD tonight so having to reinstall (OS too big to just mirror it), and I'm trying to make the transition as smooth as possible. Is there a way to back up my firefox settings?

Going to copy my entire user library over to my storage drive (it contains all the install.exe's for most of my progs, savegames, as well as the usual data) then install on new SSD and format current OS drive. Is there a better way to go about this or do I just need to bite the bullet and get on with it?

Ah, cheers lads.

Last quetion, will my OEM license be alright seeing as I'm just reinstalling on a different drive? Will I have to format my existing OS before installing to avoid license conflict? Cheers

Your OEM licence will cover you for an additional or replacement HDD, although you may have to activate over the phone (usually an automated process, you probably won't need to speak to a human being).

The old OS won't cause you any license conflicts, so no need to format the drive until you're good and ready. It's a good idea anyway though to disconnect every drive *except* the SSD whilst you're installing the OS, and reconnect them afterwards, that way you're more likely to avoid any little mishaps. :)

I have used firefox portable for ages now
It keeps EVERYTHING in one folder you can just drop where ever you want
and it runs fine

Cheers, will do. I keep meaning to turn my HDDs around for cable tidiness anyway so good opportunity to do that I guess. Think I'm ready then.....cmon posty!
