First things first, this post isn't a dig at anyone and I'll almost certainly have worded it badly and it'll get misinterpreted. I'm interested in gathering opinions. I know some of you have dyslexia as well, so don't take offence. Everyone else: please keep it nice
Onto the thread topic...
Presumably, those of you who can't spell or handle your grammar must know who you are. It's you I'm interested to hear from most
When I see a post full of spellink and grammer mistakes it sticks out at me like a sore thumb. I'll occasionally make a typo but it's purely that; it's not because I don't know. If you can't spell, can you see the difference between a well spelled and grammatically correct post and one that isn't? It's interesting that sometimes when you see a badly spelled post, it is written the way that person might speak their post out loud in their regional accent, as if they don't know what the real word is.
I think this has come from the fact that I think I have a fairly neutral accent when I speak. Put me in with people locally and they comment that I speak with a posh accent. Put me in with people who are in fact posh, and they will say I sound common
I'm interested to see if it's the same, visually, with written language.
