What would you do?

I started my new job 2 weeks Wednesday just gone. Loving it so far, get on really well with all the guys (only 5 of us in the IT team lol). Anyway, I have caught a terrible cold. I hate taking days off as it is, but I am in real achey pain and struggling to walk around.

I am going in this morning, do you think it is too much for me to ask to go home after lunch? If I feel any worse. I mean, will this be pushing it?

i would go in and let them see that you really are ill

if you are ill, you are ill and theres not a lot you can do about it

the timing might not be good but as long as its genuine and they see that, they should understand

As above, plus the fact a lot of bosses hate the idea of someone coming in ill with the potential to make others poorly.

Cool, went in yesterday and it was obvious I was ill, but I was up and about the place. But today... Struggling to even drink tea! TEA! lol.

Well, in work 30 mins ago, just blew my nose after a coughing fit... First nose bleed I have ever had! Used half a bog roll nicked from the loo's to stop it lol.

Boss hasn't said anything yet, maybe I will just have to man up and ask.

always go in when sick, the sicker the better, then from time to time you can call in sick and they will know (well think) you are really really ill.. that way you can have an extra few days off...

Leave bloodied and mung filled bog roll on show in the bin...they're bound to send you home then.

Well, after filling our bin (I sit next to my boss) with bloodied tissues drenched in snot. I asked him if I could go home, he asked "do I have a choice?" jokingly, I said yes as I have only been working for him for 15 days, he then said it is fine if I want to go home.

Just got home... Had a coughing fit then puked everywhere lol. Good timing eh?
