Can't play this till I'm back home, killing me :D

Haha yes Egon, met her quite late on though. Declared war on me few turns later, ****.

damn, installed Win7 finaly, and Civ5 runs like a dog, and keeps crashing... Music still plays, but screen freezes. Maybe because im using DX10 instead of 9?

2K games have said that the first patch will fix issues with multiplayer, modding, AI, gameplay, user interface and miscellaneos. They will also be fixing the current trade bug which makes your resources respawn.

Will be interesting to see what changes they make to the AI and whether they become less aggressive and less random.

I'm using Win7 and my Civ 5 is running fine in both DX10/11 and 9. I had some crashing issues on day one of release but those were all fixed when I disabled the intro movie.

As long as they stop asking me about open borders, RA, pacts of secrecy/cooperation every bleedin turn I'll happy.

On a separate note, I've been running Win7 x64 on spec below (DX9) and it runs fine, slows down towards the end game however. I tried DX11 once and it was just far too slow, it ran but my poor 8800 GTS 512 really struggled.

Running fine here on a Q6600 with an 8800GTXU on W7x64. In fact it runs better in dx10 than dx9- in dx9 it really seems to struggle when I zoom right out.

As the game progresses the turns get slower, but I've not had any significant crashing problems, maybe twice since I started playing.

Can the 8800 GTS do DX11? Thought it was DX 10 - I might be wrong

No DX10 only which is probably why it struggled. No crashes though.

Same setup, but I found DX9 much much smoother.

I run in DX10/11 mode.

I noticed that it had set tessellation to high by default, and as I have a 4870 which can't do tessellation I set it to low (I am assuming when it says tessellation it means the DX11 stuff). Good jump in FPS.
