Guys ,

6 months ago i brought an overclocked i5 @4ghz from Overclockers , it came with the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD5 Motherboard , Had no issue at all , however , just got an iphone and it has synching issues , having done a bit of research , Gigabyte released a F5 version bios update that resolves this issue , i have been on the website and cannot find this version , it has only F7 to F10 available , with the F10 version ( the latest ) will this version still carry the fix for the iphone??
also , as its overclocked am i going to lose all my overclocked settings? and if so how can i get it backed to 4ghz ( i have had no expierence of overclocking whatsoever )

Warm Regards

It should yes, once a fix is introduced it should remain in place for all subsequent BIOS versions.

BE AWARE, updating the BIOS will invalidate any warrently you have on your motherboard with OcUK. You will need to reapply all overclocking settings yourself, and you may find you can get the same clocking from your system under a new BIOS version.
This isn't usually the case but it is the disclaimer.

Note every settings, update bios, repalce every settings, not sure if gigiabyte boards preserve profiles if they do, then saving and brinign one back would be the swiftest option.

If you do the flash properly, this should definitely not be the case, to make sure what the position is just send OcUK a Webnote or just give them a ring.

The best way to update your UD5 BIOS is to use the Q Flash Utility, read your manual as how to do this, use a USB flash drive to put F10 BIOS on etc, also before you do the flash, as already suggested write down ALL your current setting, so you can, after the update completes, you will be able to get you o/c setup again.

Thanks for the replies,

I updated my bios to the latest version , re entered all the values as before , and my system just kicked out a continous beep , then restarted and said the system was not bootable to overclocking and voltage and reset the default setting !! but on a good note , my iphone now syncs!! just lost the 4ghz overclock :( Life`s a Bitch!!

When you completed the BIOS update and go into the BIOS did you first select "Load Optimized Defaults" then "Save and Exit" and re-enter BIOS before you put your o/c settings in?

I must make a correction to my initial post.

I had stated that flashing your own BIOS on a pre-overclocked bundle will invalidate the motherboard warranty with OcUK.
I meant to state that flashing your own BIOS on a pre-overclocked bundle will invalidate the overclock warranty with OcUK.

They provide no support to repair your overclock if you BIOS flash themselves, as such things are all configured individually, and individually tested, and indeed individually shipped.

does someone have a list of the settings used by overclockers for the bundle to 4ghz? I got no sheet with mine, but have recently updated my bios and lost my settings, but im at a loss as to what to change the settings to.

Might be a good idea to start your own thread - list all your system specs and I am sure there will be many folks more than willing to help you out mate.
