Having trouble finding the right card...

Hi chaps,

I'm looking for a gfx card with 2 DVI ports so I can run a couple of 1280x1024 displays (none of that dvi & d-sub nonsense, anyone tried matching the picture with identical displays!?).

EVGA do a 9500GT but it's difficult to source in the UK. Same with Gigabyte and their 8800GS.

I'll only be using the card for office work and occasional photoshop so nothing too demanding.

I'd prefer Nvidia if at all possible.

Well the cheapest Nvidia card is the GT430 but that will mean you running 1 DVi native and a DVI to HDMI convertor on the other port. If you really must have two native DVI out's then I suggest you look at the GTS450 or the Radeon HD5750 but the Geforce card costs £100+ and the Radeon is £80+ so it's not that cheap.

In all honesty if you're not gaming I would be tempted to get a 2nd hand 9500/9600/9800GT for £40 and have done with it as there not going to let you down if all there doing is displaying a picture (i.e ther idle most of the time).

Yeah the cheapest with dual dvi looks like the Radeon 5750. If it was me, I would seriously consider picking up a second hand 9600 or 9800 esp if not going to be gaming.
