Blah blah blah I was the Quality Audit Technician with Hotpoint, Creda, Indesit & Ariston for 27 years blah blah blah.
However, our site didn't build fridge/freezers but I was told that one company builds the innards for virtually every company.
If that is true then they're all as good as each other and you're judging on cosmetics.

a lot of brands are owned by single companies (Siemens, Bosch & Neff are all under one lid as one example) but I just can't see most companies using the same innards. Some brands have built a reputation for a reason, their stuff lasts better than others.

We went for a Siemens fridge/freezer in the end after considering a Samsung. In the end using Reevoo to see what "normals" think of the stuff is a great way of seeing what you're going to get.

Yeah, does sound daft but I was told this in a quality meeting.
I really can't see Bosch using the same innards as Hotpoint.

In fairness the one appliance of ours that gets a real physical workout (washing machine) was treated to a Miele badge and i wouldn't change it for the world. Fortunately we had £600 in John Lewis vouchers so we didn't have to pay for much of it ourselves.

Get a Bosch. Why I hear you ask? Virtually all Bosch refrigeration appliances these days have easy to remove & replace door seals (they either peel off or are held on with magnets) In most cases, the door seal is usually the 1st thing to wear out on a fridge or freezer, this lets warm air & moisture in & this causes the appliance to ice up quicker & makes it work harder to keep cool, which in turn leads to it being less efficient, breaking down sooner & you having to defrost the appliance more often. I've checked & I'm certain that Bosch is the only manufacturer that has this feature AFAIK.

OK, the door seals are not on the cheap side, but its cheaper than buying a new fridge freezer. :o
