Am going to a wedding at the Hilton in Paddington tomorrow and am wondering if anybody can tell me if there's likely to be any free parking in or around the general area or do I need to take a bag full of pound coins with me?

Checked out the hotel on the internet and they seem to offer parking but it will cost £31 or £34 for the day and being a cheapskate would rather like to avoid this when I can use the money towards booze :)

Last time I was in London on a Sunday was last year and on-street parking was free. I parked outside the tube station opposite the Hilton London Metropole all day for nothing.

That's good to hear, guess I'll take a chance taking the car tomorrow in that case. In nearby Harrow there's no free parking even on a Sunday.

Make sure free is free, getting towed or a ticket round there will make the hotel parking seem cheap :)

The jolly Nigerian traffic wardens love a Sunday victim!

Around Paddington itself is restricted 7 days a week, though there are some areas with free weekend parking not too far away.

Cheers for that, looks like parking to the bottom of Sussex Gardens should be OK.

Will definitely do, taking no chances as the wife will be en-tow, plan is she will drive on the way back. My life, nads and ears would be in danger if we came back and the car had been clamped or towed.

What im saying is there is a lot of resident permit parking round there which isnt always well sign posted.
