Recently my beloved Razer Deathadder 1800 dpi decided to go wrong. I duly packed it up for RMA and sent it 1st class recorded post. A week later and a call to OcUK confirms it never got there. I'm now about to claim back the insurance (up to £41 I believe) to get a replacement.

The Razer Deathadder Respawn is on TWO, less than £40. Seems good.

I just want to know, is there anything better out there for less than £40? I haven't kept track of mice for a while.

I agree with the mx518, but if you were happy wth the Razer Deathadder, perhaps get the new one, I do find changing gaming mice an almost a grieving experience.

MX518.

Why?

Have you used a Deathadder to be able to compare? Logitech have great support, that is a factor I suppose, the MX518 has been popular for a long time, especially because it's quite affordable, but would it be as good as the Deathadder Respawn?

Ideally I'd like the input of someone who's had both, however unlikely. Any opinions appreciated if you can back them up with an explanation!

While not a death adder, I used to have a copper head and it just felt too light and did not mould into my hand as well. I would not have realised there was anything better than the copper head unless I had tried the mx518, which did just seem to become part of me almost straight away.

I must admit I now use a G5 and not a mx518 (the mx died after a couple of years and I tried for an upgrade) but when the G5 dies I know I will buy a MX518

Hey Alex,

I used to use the 1800dpi Deathadder until I was given the Respawn version as a gift...and it's just as good, if not better than the original.

If you liked the original, and if you found it comfortable to use, then I wouldn't waste your time looking for another mouse.

I have a respawn edition deathadder and i wouldn't buy a different mouse ..

such an amazing mouse .

comfortable too :)

hope that helps

Get G500.

Razer stuff is sooo cheap plastic.
I think the only reason they're popular is coz all the kids use to buy them for the leds and good marketing. It's like the fatal1ty xXxxXXxxXx pro xxXx gamer XXx.

Grab logitech tbh, so much better.

Thanks guys, some good suggestions there.

The Coolermaster Sentinel Advance looks very interesting at such a similar price point to the Deathadder. On paper, it's better in many ways. Anyone used both?

Yulaw, anything you don't like about it?

I know that its already been said, but I would like to backup the MX518 as a brillient mouse. I have used quite a few mice over the last few years and the MX518 comes out on top for me. I love the 2 thumb buttons and it just fits my hand like a glove. One thing I would change if I was honest would be the logitech symbol on the mouse, its gets a bit annoying every now and then.
