Boomerang rental upgrade

My other issue besides waiting times for games lately is the review system. They ask you for reviews and if they aren't 4 star or more they don't use them or delete them.

I rated games as I finished them for months, until recently they were up on the site. Say something like Naughty Bear I wrote an honest review and like others gave it a low score. I then noticed that all my low reviews had been removed. I emailed them they responded with...

"We aim to publish as many reviews as possible but if we feel a review is overly negative or does not offer customers a balanced review of the game we sometimes don’t publish it."

Which was horse **** tbh as there was no longer any of the low reviews left for games.

Normally when I complain I get a few weeks extra for free, but this time I have taken a holiday while I consider other places to use.
 
If anyone could give me the name to some other rental companies that are decent, it'd be greatly appreciated.

They haven't sent me the 2nd game yet since upgrading.
 
I've got nine days before my next billing date, I'm clearing off to Lovefilm if they don't get their act together. The steaming-to-PS3 will be a nice bonus.

Lovefilm offer a much better service in my experience.

One other thing I've never got with Boomerang, is that the 2nd tier package is more than twice the price of the basic.
 
Still waiting for a damn game to get sent out here and that's after supposedly being put on top priority after I complained!

Was only going to stick with them till Black Ops arrives anyway, at this rate I'll be lucky if I get a game sent out.
 
I've had F1 2010 on top of my list since I started the trial and they keep sending me games which are at the bottom of the list !!!!!!

Crap Service, going to cancel.

Lovefilm are much better.
 
I never got any of the games I really wanted from Boomerang, only got the games I 'filled' the list with otherwise I fear I would have got nothing at all.
Lovefilm always manage to send at least one of my top priority titles each turnaround.
 
I was with lovefilm for over 1 1/2 years and I found the service for games to be pretty poor. They never seemed to have enough copies and I never got what I wanted unless I reduced the list to one or two games.

I didn't complain though because it was free as I kept re-using and re-registering 90 day trials until they caught on :D
 
Boomerang just sent me my top choice which was Mafia 2. 3 Day turnaround so not to bad at all really. If the service stayed this way with a 3 day turnaround for top choice, I'd certainly keep my subscription active.
 
I must have about 20 games on my Lovefilm list. It's working pretty well for me. I only got my 360 in March, so I have loads to catch up on. I quite like the surprise of what might arrive next.
 
Lovefilm definitely looks to be cheaper than bommerang. I'm quite tempted to go for the cheapest lovefilm option. 2 games a month is easily enough for me.
 
jus got my first game from boomerang using the free trail....and it doesnt work :( disc is completely fudged, sent an email back and awaiting reply, hopefully a rare thing??

Surprised they'd let that happen! I wonder if they are actually a big company or a 1 man show.
 
if you visit reviewcentre.com or something like that, all the rental firms for games etc get very negative reviews.


lovefilm is one of the worst from what I have seen, I have yet to try them so can't comment, I am using boomerang now on there free trial and they sent me God of war 3 within 1 day of me joining up, and I returned that 2 days ago and now they have sent me #3 on my list. ( dante's inferno ).

not costing me anything so at the moment it's all good lol.

I have heard horror stores tho with online rental services were the games get lost in the post and they try and charge the persons card. I would advise getting proof of postage if anyone doesnt already do so.

Getting proof of postage sending the games back would probably render the whole uneconomical for the user.

No all you need is a certificate of posting. It's free but you have to post your discs at a post office to get the certificate stamped. That's a pain in the arse for most. :D

If a game gets lost in the post once at Boomerang, they let you off. If a second game gets lost, you have to stay a member with them for two further months, a third = six months mandatory membership. That's what I remember from their terms but the website seems offline now so I can't check.
