Moved my system to a different case this morning and now it refuses to POST.

Brief system spec

Q6700
4GB 1066 Hyperx RAM
ASUS P5Q Premium MB
BFG GTX850

Everything moved over - power on. Powers up for 4 - 5 secs then restarts. All fans run, power on and reset switch on MB light up. Drives spin up. Fan on GPU running - Just no POST!!!!! :(

So far I have

Checked all the power leads and connections
Tried 1 stick of RAM at a time
Tried running with just MB, GPU connected
Tried an alternate working GPU
Reset CMOS - removed batt for a few minutes
Tried a alternate known working PSU
Tried alternate monitors and leads (DVI, VGA and HDMI) - just reports no signal

Still nothing. I think the MB is borked but if anyone can think of anything else that I can try before I rip it out and boot it over in next doors garden!! please shout out :)

Your help appreciated :)

Possibly a short on the motherboard?

I know it's a pain but try assembling outside of the case and try it then.

Marvellous!!! :)

Top bloke... thanks very much :)

Took the whole thing apart. Fired it up on the box and it worked. slowly rebuilt it and re tested as I went along.

Problem = extension for the case power on switch (for the tv card) shorting against the case around the back of the motherboard

****** computers!!!!!

Again many thanks Surveyor :) And the neighbours are happy not to have a MB stuck in the middle of their lawn!!!
