Genre has been in decline for several years now imo
Nothing. Not one.
Not WoW: Cataclysm, not GW2 and not SW:TOR.
From everything I've seen in my recent market hunt through, I've never seen a more underwhelming time in the MMO/MMORPG field.
I wanna know what Blizzard's secret one in development is.

What we've announced at Blizzard is that we have Starcraft [II] coming, Diablo has been in production...and a new, unannounced MMOG that has a little more broad appeal
If it's underwhelming, what previous MMO's are you comparing the recent ones to? If any?
I don't wish to derail the thread, I have a seperate thread currently live discussing my dissatisfactions with current genre MMO's, and ways in which we as players could improve through feedback and ideas.
I'm personally looking for something Revolutionary, instead of WoW-evolutionary.
No-one has mentioned Warhammer 40K: Dark Millenium. However I think that may be released in 2012, quite intrigued about classes/races.
Mmm, thats a good mention, but with the truly epic fail of Warhammer: Age of Reckoning I'm not hoping for much there either.
waiting for GW2
Just looked up the space based MMO's that are in developement, I already hate them. The one thing I disliked about Eve the most was it was full pvp, you could be minding your own business in a deserted corner of the galaxy and some idiot would come along and blow you up for fun. That spoilt the game a lot for me.
I have to say it does annoy me no end that sandbox type skill based mmo's seem to have become inextricably linked with full open PvP.
It's the main reason pre-nge SWG was my favourite game ever, you could do pretty much anything you wanted without worrying about some twit with more time than manners on his hands smacking you and nicking your stuff![]()
