The info you all want! Well at least for the 6850!

As one would expect, the HD 6870 and 6850 will be the higher-end models of the series, and it seems that XFX is ready to launch its HD 6850 as soon as AMD gives the word.

Which completely contradicts the spec they list.

EDIT: UNLESS they mean higher end of the 68xx series, rather than the 6xxx series (which includes teh 69xx series?) lol. But why do they call it 'series'? Wrong word.

I wonder if nVidia is taking notes and will skip to releasing a GTX780 and 790 that are just rebadged GF104 cores :D

I'm just hoping AMD see sense at the last minute and sort the names out.

Price is all that matters i could care less about the name. If there is stupid people out there that think a 6870 priced around £200 is faster than there £300 5870 then thats there problem. Most people with a brain know that price dictates what speed a graphics card will give you.

Umm what?

With only 960 stream processors it's certainly not high-end, unless he means just barely faster than mid-range.

We are yet to see exactly how they will perform in real games - they have been working on make the architecture more efficent so 960SP could be quite fast.
