Do iPhones require special internet, like BBs do? e.g If I take out a sim out of a Galaxy S which has 500mb data per month will it work in an iPhone?

No it doesnt....the iphone just uses a normal internet plan.

Thanks - also thanks for answering all the BB questions aswell. I've decided on a different idea now. I don't have the option to get an iPhone 4, however I can get a Galaxy S with a good plan. They go for around 400, I'll sell it for somewhere around that and put in the rest and buy a new iPhone 4.

Oh I just remembered the iPhone 4 has small sim-cards, so... my above idea isn't going to work is it?

If you're brave you can DIY your sim to the right size. A lot of people did this before the microsims were released by O2 et al.

You could also just ask your carrier for a microsim.

You could also just ask your carrier for a microsim.

i.e if I've just taken a contract out with Voda for a Galaxy S and two weeks later I ring them and ask them for a micro-sim... would they be ok with that?

Just cut it down to size...or alternatively buy a micro sim cutter..think they are around a tenner or something.

Plenty of guides on the net on how to cut down your sim to a micro sim.

Thanks.

I'm not too good with anything DIY - I'll have look around to see if any of these local phones shops do the cutting :p - If only apple did it for you!

I can't see your carrier having an issue tbh. Just tell them the truth. You hated the Galaxy and decided to buy an iPhone.

Just discovered the online Vodafone chat and explained that I wanted to swap it for an iPhone with a friend or something and he said yeah that's fine. We'll send a you mico-sim. So problem solved :)
