Never had one before. Where do they slot into in your typical case? Pictures of them don't look like they fit in a normal hard drive slot.

I am sorely tempted to get one for my OS. Bit put off by the price though. Any suggestions for best value in terms of bang per buck?
Well for a start, the OCZ vertex 2 bigfoot drives are 3.5in and cheaper than their 2.5in equivalents, and won't require an adapter.

Sorry to raise this again. But one final question on SSDs. If your machine is always on sandby, like mine, it restarts pretty quickly. is there still a case for having an SSD running the OS?
It should still load problems a lot quicker than nearly any mechanical drive at the very least![]()
