**can someone edit the title to remove the url bits please? no idea why some copy pastes do that :/**

Now before I begin, it's worth noting that this Cracked article sets out to show just how people don't read the Bible (or pretty much any religious book for that matter).

I found it an interesting article especially having seen many movies based around certain things mentioned in it and of course the usual religious banter that follows in daily life anyway.

The comments on Cracked were quite lolworthy on the most part too.

If only more people took what they're being fed with a pinch of

Instead of literally :p

The article uses historical records and facts to reference inaccurate interpretations in modern religion and nothing more!

This highlights many of the issues I have with Christianity: man has distorted Jesus' (if he existed of course) message so much through greed and hunger for power that I don't trust anything in it!

Thanks for the link :)

What about "5 Things You Won't Believe Aren't In the Koran". We could all do with a good laugh today.

Or the Torah, or anything else. What is the point you're trying to make here?

Cracked references Christianity in the article because it's the most prominent throughout history in reference to the content being talked about and obvious especially in the modern age with film/media but it very easily applies to any religion that follows the same trend (any major religion then).

Haha good read that, like the devil bit, its just a big book of chinese whispers.

Thats what I think of all religious books, nothing more than made up passed down changed round stories.

I love the fact that the image we have of jesus is a white European. god forbid "our lord and saviour" could be a "darkie"

The article would be worth reading if it wasn't for the misleading title. Ironically it claims that most of these things ARE mentioned in the Bible but aren't described as many people would. I doubt many Christians would be misled by popular culture beliefs though. Also worth noting that there's more than one interpretation of the Bible.

After reading that, I remembered the old Pen and Teller bible video (which I would post if it wasnt for the sweaing in its title) - always funny reading the stuff that isnt mentioned for varying reasons. Crazy pokemon angels would be a good draw for getting kids to church xD

EDIT: Just re-read the title. Is it meant to be stuff that actually isn't in the Bible, but people think that it is? Now that actually sounds more interesting than stuff that I wouldn't believe is in there, given that I know fairly well what is in there.

Yea thats what it is

Right, just read the article. Quite interesting and well put together. The only bit I wasn't 100% on was the identity of the antichrist - hadn't realised the extent to which the term is used simply to describe unbelievers.

Very interesting read and some quality gags :). Still, I wasn't surprised that those descriptions of Angels, The Devil, Holy Grail, The Antichrist and Hell that we know of today wouldn't actually be in the Bible, information has always been 'tweaked' throughout the years.

There's a religion joke in that last sentence somewhere, damn, got my dense head of today :(.
