netbook advice/thinly disguised spec me thread

hey all

im looking to buy a netbook for web browsing over wifi, watching movies and reading PDFs on.

Decent build quality, battery life and screen (10.1" is fine. no smaller though!) are important to me. i wont be doing much typing, but a reasonable keyboard and a not utterly rubbish trackpad would be nice too.

im not particularly bothered about OS, and im perfectly happy with xp/7/ubuntu/mac os/ios

i'd prefer to spend less than £400, but im reasonably flexible.

I was looking at the samsung N210, but I'd like some input from you lot before i splash the cash.

I'd still say the Compaq 311 is still hard to beat for the price, especially with both the Full Ion flash and the over clocking potential it has.

and the upgrade to 3gb total ram

(1gb ram is soldered leaving a free slot for a 2gb stick)

If it doesnt float your boat then dont do it - simple. But the opportunity is there.

Alternatively if you are feeling a little proactive, go and read the thread conveniently placed on the first page entitled
