Hi folks I have a question...for you sound fideility experts.

I have some Logitech Z4 speakers, and I am not fully happy with them, they either seem too quiet and muffled, or just to darn loud whch upsets the neighbours...

Whats speakers would you think of getting? I want a 2.1 set-up...So far I have tried

Logitech Z4's (lack of clear sounds at low level (need to hear but need to keep noise down)

Creative T20's (Seem to suck to me, to much Bass on my PC and can t get the sweet spot with noise detail, so I stuck them on my PS3...)

The use would mainly be for games and I would spend a maximum of £100..

Oh and they have to have a bass control, I hate bass as it makes my livingroom vibrate, but I like the luxury of having 2.1 with a remote control on it

Cheers

Von.

For 2.1 The AE Aego's are highly recommended around here, but they don't come with a remote nor do they support one...

To much bass? they are very brightly toned speakers, you have tried turning the bass knob down, havent you? O_o

If you think they have too much bass then I would think the problem must be elsewhere, in the audio driver config or windows CP, or in game audio settings.

I have the bass between 75-100% depending on what i'm listening to.

Could be a setting...Seem better on the PS3, sound quite real on it, stick them on PC and boom with the gunfire (Company of Heroes).

Normalise/Loudness Equalisation (or manually adjusting equalizer) might help with the gunfire boom.
If you find the bass of the T20 too beefy, you'll likely find decent 2.1 speakers hard to swallow.
