Halfords 150 piece advanced set half price

Dont seem like there is enough to justify £200, Fair enough the £100 aint too bad but i bet its on offer a lot.

heh, that's going to come back and bite you in the ass when you need to spend an extra couple of quid for some torx drive bits, and some more to some spanners (to lock off the bolt you trying to undo with your ratchet), then there's the e-drive bits, the 1/2" drive for bigger stuff, the deep 3/8" sockets for long threads, etc

It hurts less if you spend it all at once ;)

At the moment I just borrow things from my brother / dad anyway.

I've got a few cheapo screw driver sets that come with the torx jobbies, don't think my car uses any of them :)

Shame when they changed these to advanced from professional, all the smaller bits aren't direct fit to ratchet any more, they are little hex bits that you need to faff around with an adapter for and they always fall out.

ive got so many urges to buy tools lately

there is a sealy torque wrench i want. i want some polypropelene ratchets. a new jack. i big tool chest...

I'm past all that now, my next task is to get a two post lift installed and some welding gear sorted out, few things in the way of both these ideas however.

I've got the smaller set (100 piece I think) and it has been great. I did damage one bit (5mm hex) which I used solidly for 3 months on a schools project for work but that was swapped out under the lifetime guarantee.

Sounds familiar. I'm itching to get my hands on a "project". Whether that ends up being a stripped out small cheap hatch or a cheap classic I'm not sure yet... not that it matters as before I can do that I need to 1) sort the house and conservatory, 2) sort the garden and fences, 3) stop the garage roof from leaking, 4) sort the contents of the garage and get some proper racking sorted... :(

Me & my dad want to build either a kit car or a restoration, i'm more down building something like a Cobra but he wants to do a full strip and rebuild on an E-type.

Without going into too much detail few things stand in the way, work commitments for both of us due to our jobs sending us all over the world, second problem is they are currently getting plans drafted up for yet another extension to the main house which will give us a wider garage with more height but keep its current double length. What they should really do is move into the much bigger second house and just use the already built garage which is perfect height for a lift due to a pitched roof, he's having non of it though.

I got the 120 pc one the other week, they had a offer on with an additional 15% off, got it for about £75 ish, which was great value, they either have the 120pc or the 150pc on offer.

Good sets for the money.

I'm crap with torque wrenches. I keep forgetting to unset them when i'm finished and they end up being ratcheting breaker bars :(
