Hi,

I'm in need of a new watch, something smart but also something that will go with more casual looking clothes.

Preferably with digital and clock.

Only problem is my budget is between £50-100.

Anyone have any advice please? I don't want to go to Argos and get any old cheap thing.

Thanks.

Anything you get at that range is going to be generic with cheap workings. Just get the one you like look of best.

For just over £100 (shopping around) you could get an orient Mako. Very decent watch for the money. Automatic and not too many around. Online only as not retailed officially in this country

True. I just wondered if there are any better than others out there than OcUK might be able to assist me with.

It's not quite true, at any budget you can spend well or get junk relative to the budget. If you go for something with a Jap auto movement at that price point you are getting a lot more watch than a fasion brand with a £2 quartz movement and a brand.

I like Skagen watches, but you'll probably be looking more at up to £130-150 if ordering them from the UK. However, you can get them delivered from the US for ~£100.

for <£100 id be looking at swatch, or as sh4rk said stretch a bit for a skagen! i do love my skagen

My mate has Skagen, looks really nice.

A couple of places are doing them on offer atm, seen one I like for £123 inc del (most other retailers are charging £150-160 for the same watch).

As per every other thread that has had skagen mentioned, here's some photos of mine :)

Skagen for the win for budget-ish watches, here's mine:

I made a wooden watch dial once and it discoloured the date wheel on the movement (an eta 2824 auto) so I whipped it out and started again. If it's discolouring stuff it isn't doing any good! Still those quartz jobbies are probably pretty resilient.
