Wasn't there a fact on QI just recently about toad crossings, and how these days they try to make tunnels for them, because otherwise they end up scraping literally tonnes of toads off the road?

I do wonder what on earth you're supposed to do about a toad crossing. You can't very well wait for them. Perhaps you have to stop and turn round...

I would take the warning as if its at night (toad time) and I see a toad shaped lump in the road, if safe slow down try to avoid, if I cant safely slow down, then don't try and swerve+cause an accident, just hit the thing as it'll be a toad not a rock or lump of nastyness thats going to get my car ruined, appreciate the last bit is like playing devils advocate slightly though?

How do you think explosives are moved around?

There's a depot up the road from here that stores explosives for use in quarrying, they all get moved by road.

I have seen that explosives sign a few times, in or around london i swear it. I cant remember where though, just wasted 10mins on google maps looking for it

I made a guess at a couple and wasn't far out - as you say they're pretty self explanatory. All the shapes (i.e. circle/triangle) mean the same thing, prohibition or warning - so it's not really that difficult to work out.

No, I was sure that's where I'd seen them but I've just street viewed the Woolwich Ferry and couldn't find them there either. This is going to bug me now as I've seen them regularly somewhere!

Exactly my dilemma, i cant see them on streetview but have definitely seen those signs around, quite a few times too
