Most comfortable car to drive (when I win Euromillions)

You know something, none of the Bentley's, The Flying Spur, Continental or the Arnage ride aswell as an S class or an XJ ...or a 7 series for that matter. If you want comfort, though I think the Rolls Royces are probably the ultimate then the Maybach, then I'd say you're looking at the Jag XJ's and the S class.

Bentley had to give some ride up to make them more drivable.

Its a good compromise though.

If I won euromillions I would probably get a top of the range 7series with the biggest petrol engine.

That would be so awesome :D

The 750Li Sport I was next to in London the other day.

Oh gosh yes!

I'd also buy an M6 or Nissan GT-R with the Switzer P800 package for having fun in. I'm not too keen on small sports cars like an Elise!

One of my friends had an M6 (now sold). I hated that thing. Yes, it was ridiculously quick, and very luxurious, but the ride was awful.

Edit: okay, hated is the wrong word. It was a wonderful car. But >>I<< hated it because I found it uncomfortable. It excelled in all other areas that I care about

Maybe he had the EDC set to the highest Sport mode instead of comfort all the time.

I'm perfectly happy giving people a stiff ride ¬_¬

I think the M6 is one amazingly pretty yet mean looking car!

Rolls Royce Ghost. The others in the range I think are cars to be driven in, but the Ghost seems more drivable

Didn't you just contradict yourself somewhat there. I'd say for it to be very luxurious it must have a smooth ride.

My Dad used to have an M6 and while it is many things, luxurious certainly isn't one of them.

Leather. Big screen. Auto everything = luxury.

Bumpy ride = sporty???

Wasn't my idea of a great car. I'd rather sacrifice a bit of performance for a lot more comfort, and end up with a 760i

If absolute comfort is your thing then you're never going to be looking at a car like an M car, I'd want one because it's an awesome driving machine not an awesome armchairing machine although I'm pretty at home with stiff suspension now even if my passengers are not but who cares about them!

Compared to many cars today an E46 Coupe on 17 inch conventional tyres does not have stiff suspension.

It's stiff compared to other cars on the road regardless of what class it falls into otherwise people wouldn't complain about the harsher ride wherever you look.

So - it's pretty easy to compare cars online for how fast they are etc. But what about things that matter to me? (an old man at 24)

I want:
Insanely comfortable seats
Very quiet interior
Soft suspension that lets me waft along

Not sure they all exist in the same vehicle. Even today probably the best seats around and less likely to tire you on a long drive are those found in SAAB's. I was knocked over by them when I had my first 900 Turbo in '82. I still miss those seats almost thirty years later. But then again the basic design, still used today, originates from a SAAB design for seats in fighter aircraft where you can't exactly step out to stretch your legs if you become uncomfortable.

Toyota Soarer V8 Active

Insanely comfortable seats - Check
Very quiet interior - Take it to a garage and get them to go nuts with the anti creek tape and tighten up all the screws that have come loose over nearly two decades of use
Soft suspension that lets me waft along - Extremely impressive computer controlled, infinitely adjustable hydraulic suspension (none of that wobbly air suspension pap). Dead flat cornering, ride quality that surpasses the Bentleys and Rolls Royces of the era. Oh, and 16" wheels with balloon spec tyres for optimum ride quality!

Then spend all the money that you've saved on buying some vulgar status symbol and buy coke and hookers instead. Job Jobbed ;)

By quiet interior he means not having road noise or engine noise etc, not non rattly interiors ;)
