Has anyone been to Aladins in Brick Lane for a curry? I am off on Saturday and wondered if it is any good? Or any good menu choices?

Also, I hardly ever go to London these days, how safe is it now around Brick Lane and surrounding roads on a Saturday night and traveling back around 12-1am to Romford? As I've read mixed opinions.

Just...lol @ the Streetview opinion :D

They are all much the same from my experience, try and get a beer thrown in and no service charge as standard, and some money off, or naans and poppadums thrown in as well if you fancy bargaining a bit more. Most of the time you'll get a decent meal for around a tenner on that basis.

Go to Tayyabs or Lahore if you want an awesome cuzzah though :p

I'd be more worried about the trip back from Romford train station to the car than anything in London tbh :p

Aladdins is v.good! Its a buyers market so get a round of soft drinks, free starters and a min!

In Aladdins they will take you next door to their "mates" offy - where you will get 20% off alcohol.

You'll be fine in Brick Lane at any time.
Don't bother with the curries there - just go to Tayyabs instead. Google it for the location - it's still in Whitechapel but not in Brick Lane.

You can walk it from Liverpool Street and get a train back to Romford up to past midnight so don't worry about the travel issues.

Brick Lane is full of arty types and students. Good fun and a great curry at every turn. It's a dump, but it's not a dangerous dump.

As for the actual curry house, you're not going to eat at Alain Ducasse...just rock up and check it out and if it's gash there's a hundred other places begging for your money.
