Anyone else here suffer a case of man-boobs

I have the same thing effectively, but hey ho, i now have a g/f and she loves my nipples :p

Although originally she thought they were weird! (:O!!!!) but nevermind

Just got to get on with it buddy, i seem to store fat in the nice annoying places, like under the nipples, and around the waist, its on of those things.

I used to be weird with swimming, but now i think who cares? There are far more 'worse' people in the pool than me :)

It'll come in time mate, its a slow process of giving a monkeys bum :p
 
I have a minor case of the man boobs, but that's because I've piled some weight on over the past six months. Nothing a good bout of hard exercise and a more sensible diet won't get rid of. When I can find the time and summon up the motivation that is...

Not really comparable to your case since you are not at all overweight.
 
You sound quite skinny from your height/weight so I don't think you have fat man boobs. As mentioned it sounds like you have gyno which is genetic (Usually). The only option is surgery to remove the excess breast tissue, although if your doctor says its normal you may be being a bit self conscious. Im sure you could go private/plastic surgeon to remove it, however you may be left with a bad scar which you would still be self conscious about.

I say just try and get over it, you will be surprised how little people will care or even notice.
 
Haven't read replies but 5 times a week is too much in the gym IMO (depending what you do). 3-4 times a week is fine if you're doing it right (you will need recovery days!)

What are you trying to achieve at the gym? Bulking up, losing weight, overall fitness?


Moobs are down to fat deposits. Some people just have a broad chest and there isn't much you can do. Cut your carbs and up your protein and that'll probably cut the moobs down. Eat small and often (5-6 times a day) and go for wholegrain bread/pasta etc.

I don't think you are being silly at all. Compete load of tosh from GD as usual with little helpful advice.

I used to be very large and when I was 16 I lost weight at a very fast rate and ended up being rather skinny with some body fat and ended up blighted by the man boob fate. Now I'm an average build and confident, but I have been very, very self concious of this in the past.

If you lose fat (generally speaking), you do it in proportion to everything else, thus 'going on a jog' every so often isn't going to help at all. Thus you can be very skinny and still have man boobs.

If you want to make a change, you need to maximise your muscle gain. Or in other words, you need to GAIN WEIGHT by gaining AS MUCH MUSCLE and AS LITTLE FAT as possible. So, for example, eat high protein foods frequently and have relativey little carbs.

Then, you need to LOSE WEIGHT by losing AS MUCH FAT and maintaining AS MUCH MUSCLE as possible. Again, this requires a high protein low carb diet, but with fewer calories.

This is called 'bulking and cutting' and there is detailed advice in the sports forum on how to achieve this. It requires a very strict routine and diet to do effectively. But rest assured, this is the best way to achieve your goals.

For example, focus on interval training rather than jogging to make your metabolism high and to accelerate fat burning. Weights exercising such as bench pressing will increase your pectoral muscles and will, in time, make you look stronger and leaner.

This will take time, but don't think any exercise or fad diet alone will help you because they won't. Both your diet and exercise need to be focussed on achieving your goals.

Mate, a seriously high percentage of blokes have puffy nipples (you can spot them, they're the ones shouting man boobs at you). You apparently don't have gyno - as the doctor told you, so get some muscle, drop your bodyfat (70kg and 5,11 means crap) and stop caring, GG.
