Ideas for employment

I been unemployed for quite a while now which has been a pain but recently I was told about a job opening in a place which deals with IT. Although I got a degree its not closely related to the Job but training is given. Now I know there isn't a perfect job out there but this one is for me, it about 15 minute walk from my house and the company has loads of opportunities so I have heart to push forward in my career.

Now the disappointed part of this story is that the agency sent my cv off and I through I had an excellent chance of getting the job and so did the agency guy who recommend me with the Job in the first place, but I haven't received no phone calls from the company which now has been a week.

I so wanna get this job and I am willing to work for free for a month or so, but do you think this is the best way to get into the door or just move on and try for another job. Also how would I get them to know I willing to work for free will it look wierd and desperate.

I know I sound desperate but this is just the perfect job for me and give me that confidence, what are my options ?

Call them (the potential employer) and politely ask.

I was unemployed for over a year. The reason I got my current job is because I went down to the school where I now work and showed some enthusiasm, asked them questions, met the staff etc.

They remembered me and put me first on the list for interview, because I had already met them, the interview went great and I got the job.

I suggest that of you can't make contact through the phone, make a visit in person, it worked for me!

Last time i went to my local school looking for it work they accused me of being a pedo and kicked me out... I was waiting to talk to the IT staff there....

For some stupid reason the agency can't give out their number which i find odd and also the company has many sites across where I live so where do I start I could look for a number online

Their website has a careers page which allows u to send your cv but contact details don't have any recruitment number unless I ring up asking to speak to someone in that department.

Call them! I got my job by pestering the recruitment manager of my current company. After the interview I invited myself for tea in the staffroom and met everyone. The guy just laughed and told me to come back tomorrow to sign the contract.

Right now I interview potential employees from time to time and it's the slightly cheeky (in a likeable way) person with excellent knowledge and a will to learn that makes me reach for the contract.
