Well i bought a slot car set at a car boot a couple a months back, was brand new and never used, all for the sum of £2 bargain :-) . Got it home and realised the thing had a track length of 21m  . So had nowhere to set it up, cue it being left until my brother changed rooms so i had his empty room to set it up in. This thing is ridiculous, is extremely long, complicated and has your car going upside down. Took hours to sort out the pieces as each one is different and put it together, but it was worth it :-). So here are a few images, could not get a proper one of the whole track as there is no room.

ASDA have a mini-scalextric set for £30 (half price).

Track isn't anything special, but I really want it :D

My uncle got me a non-scalextric scalextric set when I was younger that half climbed the wall (it did have a name, can't remember). Was good fun for a while, but still preffered my collection of proper stuff.

My mate had **** loads.

I think I used to have this exact same track when I was kid. Only set it up at the full size once though.

the cars get some massive speed, takes some getting used to as i come off at least two times a lap lol, better than when i started and it was every corner full whack then falling off :p .

To give an example of speed the cars go about twice the speed of my much larger proper scaletrix cars,

Tomy AFX Vertigo? I've got to admit I didn't remember the AFX bit but the maker and rest of the name came to me instantly which is worrying - what useful information is being blocked out for this trivia?

//edit having checked a couple of pictures the controllers look a bit different to those used here.

Very cool sir! Do I see upside down track? Will the cars stick?

It's not the upside down bits I'd be concerned about. I swear I can actually see inverted loops? How strong are the bloody magnets in the cars?! :p

They stick, the track in those sections are specially designed to hold onto the bottom of the car .
Same with the inverted loops, i did not think it would work right up until i did my first lap, you need the speed to get all the way around though just like a normal loop so it takes some skill this set, not for the kids or faint hearted

You can and it's not about the cars sticking by magentism from what I recall - centrifugal or centripetal force does the trick (depending on which term you choose).
