Much between these two 460's?

Not much between them. Both nice cards.

I have an MSI 460 HAWK and it's a decent enough card, bit of an impulse buy as I bought it on release day! (so paid the price penalty!). Pretty happy with it.

Though luck of the draw as to which will OC best.
EG. I have a friend with a Gigabyte 460 and that wont go much over 800MHz whatever voltage he puts through it. While there are others that appear to get around 900MHz. My HAWK has a sweet spot around 860/880MHz but much above that and it's not "totally" stable. Not that it matters if you are not going to OC.

Can't say you can do much wrong with either really.

Is there much between these two, or are they much of a muchness when it comes to real world performance? Looking to get one, but not sure if the MSI is worth the extra £10?

MSI GeForce GTX 460 HAWK "Super-OC" 1024MB
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1024MB

I'd probably opt for something like a 68XX especially considering the new awesome MLAA feature, higher performance, better connectivity, lower power consumption, better Xfire scaling.

A 6870 for £175 is just an absolute bargain for the extra you get.

How about the 6870 vs the 470 at an identical price, as below;

My Gigabyte GTX 460 won't go over 800 (at least not stable without artifacts), no matter what voltage I use. If I were buying a 460 now I'd go for the one with the highest stock clocks so I wouldn't have to worry about overclocking it.

That said, the Gigabyte GTX460 is a very, very nice card which runs amazingly cool and is effectively silent, so I have no regrets getting it.
